Olivia

Well, Erik and I are now kidless. My inlaws whisked Olivia away for a long weekend. That's right, New Year's without having to find a babysitter. I do have to say though that I missed her before she even left. A wave of anxiety always comes over me when I know she is going to be away overnight or in this case, for a few nights, but I know she will be fine because whe will be with her grandparents and she absolutely loves them and loves visiting with them. We will be picking her up on New Year's Day...

I am looking forward to having Monday off from work! I need a break so badly, it's not even funny. Even though I did take the day off from work yesterday and spent the day with my best friend Karen planning her wedding. What a day we had, it was like old times. She booked her wedding and what an absolutely gorgeous place! We were like little school girls, all giddy when we left knowing that the day is now set, the place is picked and now the count down begins. I will be visiting her in FL some time in January or February to go dress shopping! That's the fun part, when it all gets to be real...

Christmas is over

I hope everyone had a lovely holiday. Our family sure did. It was great for everyone to be together. Olivia was a bit overwhelmed with the gifts and stopped opening presents after a while. She just wanted to play with the first gift she opened. Overall it was a fantastic Christmas. We went to my aunt's house Christmas Eve and then I had my cousin Andrew and his fiance Heidi and my cousin Doug and his girlfriend Lindsay over Christmas night. We had a blast with playing games and hanging out. We had the leftovers from my aunt's cooking from Christmas Eve dinner and it was great! We have decided to make this our new tradition!

The issue with Picture People has been resolved. I called them at 8PM Friday night and they had sent my film to a mall in NY & were on their way to go pick them up at that moment. They called me from the NY mall at 9PM and told me that they scanned the pics so I could look at them online and figure out which ones I wanted. I was then to call the store with what I wanted and they would be back at the CT mall at 10:30PM and I could pick them up at that point. I didn't feel like going to the mall that late at night, so they told me that they would be open at 7am the next morning. Sure enough Olivia and I trekked on over to the mall, got there about 6:45 am, nice front row parking and guess what, Picture People didn't end up opening until 9:15 am!! The manager forgot her keys to open and had to go back home! Well, all of the waiting paid off. I got about $300 worth of pictures for only $45 and they came out great and everyone loved them!

Christmas is Almost Here

I can't believe it's the day before Christmas Eve! I love the holidays and I have been listening to Christmas music all morning. Of course I waited until the last minute to get my daughter's 2 year portraits done and this is what I give out as Christmas gifts to the in-laws, my parents, aunts, uncles, etc. So, Olivia and I braved the mall this morning, she had her pictures done and was a perfect angel. She smiled for every picture and then it happened, the Picture People's machine blew up and guess what, my pictures won't be done until tomorrow at the absolute earliest! Now, the only reason why I go to the Picture People is because you get your pictures back the same day! Oh well, guess who will be trekking to the mall on Christmas Eve, that's right, me! I have to say that I am happy she was good for the pictures though because I tried it last week and it was a nightmare, not one pose came out because she was kicking and screaming the entire time.

We got the rest of our last minute shopping done today and wrapping is under way!
