Justin's Birthday

Yesterday we celebrated Justin's 17th birthday. This is my stepfather's nephew (his sister Michelle's son). Michelle has 2 sons, Donovan 22 and Justin 17. I can NOT believe that Justin turned 17. I was 15 when Michelle was pregnant with him and he was just a little boy not so long ago! God, why when you get into your 30's all of a sudden these little kids are now teenagers and I am OLD! AH!!!!

Anyway, it was nice to see them since we don't get together all the time. Here are some pics.

Kid City

Sarah and I took the 4 kids to Kid City today in Middletown, CT. We were trying to think of something different to do this weekend other than the park, pool, etc. It was so disgusting outside today and this place came highly recommended...Thanks Lisa! The girls had an absolute blast and the boys were even able to crawl around in some areas. The only problem with little ones who are not yet walking, no strollers! That was a HUGE inconvenience and a very heavy load on us, therefore we only last a little under 2 hours. I am sure we would have stayed much longer if we didn't have the boys, but it was worth it and we can go back again. It is so much fun. Check out the link, especially those of you with young kids.

P.S. Scott's 2nd tooth came in today!! The tops ones will be here any day now.

This Weekend

We went to the Scarsdale Police Department picnic this weekend with my aunt and my uncle John, who of course, is a cop in Scarsdale. The kids had a blast. They had a bouncy castle, cotton candy, ice cream, all the goodies!

There are 2 little girls that just moved in next door, so Olivia is in her glory. Autumn is 3 like Olivia and Ariana is 6. They just go back and forth between houses. Here are some pics from today of them playing outside with the moon sand, having lunch, blowing bubbles, etc.

Swimming in the Grass?

Yes, that's right, that's exactly what my daughter did this evening. After the torrential down pours and tornado watches around here, we had a lake in our front yard. Olivia thought that it would be a good idea to jump in the puddle and then actually lay down in the puddle and pretend to swim. The pictures don't do her justice to see how soaking wet she was. I couldn't get mad. It was absolutely hysterical and she had such a blast. It's just water and the clothes get washed and she was put straight into the bath!

Happy Anniversary Andrew & Heidi!

I can't believe it has been a year already! Andrew and Heidi celebrated their one year wedding annivesary yesterday. They went away to Cape Cod for their annivesary. We had a celebration at where else...Aunt Laurie's yesterday!

It's so funny to think that last year at this time we were all in WI for the wedding. It was this week last year that Olivia was potty trained, her pacifier was taken away and she moved into her big girl bed and I was 5 months pregnant with Scott!!! Yes, I do remember all of those things and it was exactly a year ago that we pushed Olivia from a toddler to a pre-schooler and how far she has come in this last year. It's absolutely amazing. I can't believe that just a year ago she was in diapers, had a pacifier and was in a crib. It seems like a lifetime ago and that just makes me want to cry...a little for sadness, but mostly of joy to see my little girl grow up into such a beautiful girl.

P.S. Scott got his first tooth on Andrew and Heidi's annivesary!!!!!!!!!!!! I do believe he is the first of the 06 boys to get a tooth!

Surprise...Well Sort of! Karen's Baby Shower

It was supposed to be a surprise and everyone was doing so well!! Anyway, Karen was up visiting from FL this week/weekend so I decided to throw her a surprise baby shower yesterday at Aunt Laura's. In cahoots with KC for over a month now, things were going really well. He had managed to get me everyone's phone #'s that I needed, I spoke with everyone, emailed all the information and things were underway. I shopped and got everything for the party 2 days before since Karen was spending the night at my house the day before the shower. My mom and my aunt were at my aunt's house in the morning putting everything together etc. I had told everyone to be there at 1pm and I would bring Karen over by 2pm. She just thought we were going to Aunt Laurie's for a BBQ, not a far fetched idea for my aunt's house!! LOL

Well, we only had an hour to go and Karen checked her voicemail and someone spilled the beans! It was someone who wasn't going to be there and just wanted to wish her a nice day, oh well. We kept it a secret from her up until an hour before and she truly had no idea which was really cool!

The party was a great time and she got some really nice things! I am so glad we were able to do this for her. Oh and did I mention how cute she looks! We are hoping this baby is born on Scott's birthday b/c she is due right around then, since her and Olivia share a birthday...

4th of July

We had a small BBQ get together at Aunt Laura and John's yesterday. A little rain didn't hinder our party! The kids still went into the pool and we set up an extra tent to sit under. Ted handed out his books now that they are all printed!!! Everyone really appreciated that. The book is beautiful and dedicated to the kids. Love it! Thanks Dad!

I tried to get Olivia and Scott together to take a pic of them in their 4th of July outfits, but Olivia wouldn't cooperate. My mom and my mother-in-law both bought them outfits for the 4th. They wore my mother-in-law's outfits on Memorial Day when we went to PA and then my mom's outfits for the 4th of July. The outfit for Scott was the same one! Too funny!

Happy 4th!

Updated Entry

Progress on the patio and front porch

So yesterday I sat outside with Olivia and Scott all day and practiced the different settings on my camera. I am trying to let go of just using "dummy" mode and venture on to bigger and more exciting things. I don't really notice any difference, but lets just pretend, shall we? The pictures are FANTASTIC, right??? LOL Well, I took about 200 pictures of Olivia blowing bubbles and a couple of Scott sitting in the grass.

Then we went to Aunt Laurie's and I took some pics of the new patio which is done and some of the front porch progress. Erik and Andrew worked on that all day yesterday and then more tonight.

There are also pictures of my son Scott getting a hold of Erik and Doug's beer bottles! Oh how they start so young!

Samantha's Graduation Party/Aunt Laura's House

Yesterday my friend Ryan's little sister, Samantha, had her graduation party at Harry Brook Park. She is off to college! I can not even believe that she graduated high school. Ryan was saying yesterday that Samantha went to kindergarten when Ryan left for college. Wow! Time sure does fly. It was so gorgeous out yesterday, so a great day for the party and food was FANTASTIC Sue! Scott got to play with Jackson who is moving all about! He crawls and pulls himself up already. Scott was practicing his crawling yesterday b/c he was jealous and wanted to keep up with Jackson.

We went to Aunt Laurie's afterwards and hung out on the new patio by the pool. I have to get some pictures. Erik and Andrew worked all day yesterday and today on the new front porch. I will go there today and update with new pics. I took some pics of Olivia jumping on the trampoline at their neighbors house. It was her first time and she loved it. I actually got in and jumped too, but it made me feel sick to my stomach, so I got right off. Not fun for old people anymore :(
