Promotion

I think most know, some I forgot to tell, some I told so long ago, I don't remember anymore...anywho, I received a promotion at work to manager. It only took 10 years to get there, LOL. I can't believe that I have been with the company for 10 years. It's funny to think how different my life was when I started at the age of 23. Happy Hour EVERY Friday with the same people, living in our awesome apartment, with awesome roommates on Franklin Street, having awesome nights downtown Danbury! LOL Wow, that is a lifetime ago since all of those gals that I hung out with then are now wives and moms!!!

Anyway, I started out as an associate consultant 10 years ago, moved to a client services consultant within that first year and when the stress got to me, I took on a different position for a little while when I got married and got pregnant with Olivia. I then got promoted to senior consultant, I think 2 years ago?? Not sure anymore, but I finally made the decision that I do this now or never, so I took the position for manager. It's strange because it is on the same account that I have been on for 7 years now, IBM. Our client is excited since I have worked so closely with them for the last 7 years, so that's a plus, I HOPE my team is excited since I have been there senior for the last 2 years. That may be a challenge for me, managing a team that once was pretty much peers, but we will see how things go. I may be kicking myself in the you know what in a few months since my last position really wasn't that stressful and I could leave the office at 5PM sharp with no hesitation or guilt...not so sure that will happen anymore! YIKES!
