My morning started out bright early with Scott, but Olivia was still sound asleep so before I brought Scott downstairs I quickly moved the Easter baskets up to somewhere out of sight from him because I knew he would tear into them in no time, so since he didn't really know what was going on, I kept them out of sight until Olivia woke up. She didn't fall asleep until late last night. I have a feeling she was having a little anxiety about a big bunny coming into the house. I am not even joking about that! She finally woke up and was quite excited at what the Easter Bunny had left. When Olivia and Scott were born Erik and I decided that for Easter they would always each receive a gift in addition to the Easter baskets since both of their birthdays are in winter and right near Christmas. We got Olivia the Cabbage Patch Doll that eats an ice cream cone and gets sprinkles all over her face, so funny, and we got Scott a summer truck and sand/summer toys. He was more interested in the stuff in Olivia's basket though. Very proud of myself since we didn't do any candy in either basket except some M&M's in the plastic eggs that we hid. We put arts and crafts stuff in Olivia's basket and some other odds and ends. I think she really enjoyed it and since she really doesn't know that the Easter Bunny normally brings candy, she was ok with that. They were so cute finding the eggs, Scott even found four all by himself.
We then headed over to Aunt Laura's with all the family there. We celebrated 3 birthdays; Katie's 15th, Andrew's 27th and Michael's 51st. Then we ate WAY too much. I can't wait to go to bed. :)
We missed the other 5 Spiegels from the Spiegel clan, but Amanda is about to have baby Morgan any day now, so she wanted to lay low and be comfortable so Mom and Dad decided to be low key with them as well. They were missed, but we love them and they know that!
Happy Easter everyone.
I thought it was cute to compare last year's Easter pic of Olivia and Scott to this year's...
