Mason's Baptism/Summertime fun at the pool

Yesterday we celebrated Mason's baptism. Sure, sure he's 19 months and he was able to walk himself up, but that is ok, he was very well behaved and was soooo handsome in his little outfit! Better late than never! :) They had a party for him at Uncle Al's yesterday. There are some pics of the kids from the day. I think there were more kids than there were adults yesterday it seemed like. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of anyone else but the kids. Dave and Amanda came over with Sammy and Morgan, so it was great to see them too and now I have some updated pics of Morgan! We learned that the Spiegel boy cousins scream louder just the two of them together than a room full of little girls!!!

I have also added some pics from the pool this summer with the family.

Jones Beach

I had off last Monday from work and we did end up going to LI to Jones Beach. Erik couldn't get off work, so he wasn't able to join us. Scott stayed home with Grandma. Mike and Sarah came with Lindsey (Mason was at daycare), so it was a much easier day without the boys. We also brought Marissa and Katelyn with us. We had so much fun. It was sooooo overcast when we first got there around 10am and the sun did not come out until about 1:30 or so, but the damage was already done to Sarah and me (bright red lobsters, although I did put sunscreen on). Mike, Katelyn, Marissa and me went in the water out far enough past the breaking of the waves. We swam with swarms of jellyfish which was very strange. They were the non stinging ones, but it was still a little hard to get used to when they would just brush up against you, you could not get away from them. Lindsey and Olivia caught a jellyfish in their bucket and thought that was the coolest thing ever and then released "him" back to the ocean later on. They had so much fun playing in the water and also burying Mike in the sand, that was quite hysterical. Despite the mommies getting a sunburn, the day was great!

I also added a couple of pics of Papa when he came to visit us last week so he could see us before joining Bestema over in Norway.

Hope everyone is having a fun summer! :)

Happy 4th of July

We had a busy weekend for the 4th, late nights and tired kids. Thursday night we all trooped up to Cartus where I work and hung out all night and watched the Danbury Fair fireworks from up on the hill. We had an absolute blast. There were about 14 adults and 14 kids I believe. Unfortunately I forgot my camera :( I didn't get any pics of Scott's first time seeing fireworks. Oh well, what can you do?

Friday we went to Uncle Al's for a party that Mike and Jason put together. We had a great time and the kids had so much fun. They set off fireworks as well. We were in competition with the neighbors for a little while there. I got some pretty hysterical pics of Scott making the funniest faces every time a firework went off. He wasn't fond of the loud ones.

Yesterday was a rest day and poor Scott slept until 10:30 in the morning yesterday (I actually woke him up) and then went down for a nap at 12 and slept for 4 1/2 hours! He was sooooo exhausted from 2 nights of late partying! :)

I have off tomorrow from work and we are hoping to go to LI to Jones Beach for the day, we will see...

Happy 4th of July everyone!
