This weekend my friend Diana came up from PA with her 2 children, Tyler and Ashley. Diana and I have been friends since high school. She now lives in PA with her husband Steve and 2 children. Tyler is 4 (and is my godson) and Ashley is 15 months old. Diana's mom still lives here in Brookfield. It was nice having the kids visit and play with Olivia. We haven't seen them since September for Ashley's 1st birthday when we went down to PA. Ashley is absolutely adorable, I could just eat her up. She weighs 30 pounds, Olivia is 27 pounds and 2 years older! Too funny.
Saturday my in laws took both Scott and Olivia overnight. Yikes! My first night away from baby boy. It was tough, but a nice break. Diana and I went out dancing. We had so much fun, but I was sooooo tired this morning, but got to sleep late! That was such a nice treat. Erik and I went and picked up the kids this afternoon. Both of them did great. Scott slept until 7:30am this morning for my inlaws which was great. My sister in law was there with Sam, so we got to visit with them too this afternoon. It was nice because my in laws were taking care of their friends daughter Madeline who is 13 and she was there to help with Scott and Olivia. Olivia just loved having her there.
After we picked up the kids, we went to my Aunt Laura's house to celebrate my stepfather, Mark's, birthday. Everyone was there and we had so much food which was awesome!!
Very busy and LONG weekend, but lots of fun.
Oh, Olivia's ear infection still has not gone away since November, poor thing. I talked to the doctor again about tubes, but tubes will not help Olivia since she does not have a problem with fluid and tubes do not prevent ear infections, they only help alleviate the pressure and drain the fluid. Since that is not Olivia's issue, it will not help. This is the same thing the ENT specialist told us, so we have opted to not do tubes and just run the course with these ear infections. Hopefully she will grow out of this! The doctor told us that some people's germs settle in their chest so have chronic bronchitis, some it settles in their throats so that have strep all the time, Olivia's just happens to settle in her ears, thus all of the ear infections. I pray that this cycle ends soon b/c it is so tough dealing with the ear infections all the time and I just feel so bad for her.
